Job summary

First United Methodist Church - Waxahachie seeks a part-time Modern Worship Leader to plan, prepare, rehearse, and recruit volunteers for the weekly Modern Worship service. You will lead Sundays with energy, develop youth volunteers for slides, sound, and music, and rehearse midweek with musicians to ensure a unified worship experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a member of a modern worship team and/or leading a praise band preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work with technology including computers, sound equipment, and other devices for worship.
• Strong vocal ability is a must; keyboard/guitar proficiency a plus.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and direct a volunteer team for worship services.
• Experience working with youth volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead a weekly Modern Worship service.
• Recruit and equip volunteers for musicians, hospitality, ushers, readers, and tech crew.
• Conduct weekly rehearsals with musicians for Sunday Worship.
• Develop engaging slide presentations for the service and church news.
• Collaborate with the worship team to ensure a consistent worship message.
