Job summary

First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie seeks a part-time Modern Worship Leader to plan, prepare, rehearse, and recruit volunteers for a weekly Modern Worship service.

You will work with the worship team to ensure a consistent message across services, recruit and develop volunteers, lead rehearsals, and guide the Sunday morning worship with energy. Rehearsals are midweek with Sunday services, and flexibility is expected for seasonal services.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a modern worship team or leading a praise band preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work with technology for worship, including audio/visual setup.
• Strong vocal ability; keyboard and/or guitar skills are a plus.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and direct a volunteer team for worship services.
• Experience working with youth volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, rehearse, and recruit volunteers to conduct a weekly Modern Worship service.
• Recruit and equip volunteers to serve as musicians, hospitality, ushers, readers, and tech crew.
• Conduct weekly rehearsals with musicians; lead Sunday Morning worship with energy and participation.
• Develop slide presentations communicating service contents and broader church news.
• Collaborate with worship team to ensure a consistent message across services.
• Remain flexible to changing circumstances during worship services.
