Jersey City Global Charter School seeks a dynamic Middle School Social Studies Teacher. You will plan standards-aligned instruction and foster inquiry-based learning to help students explore civics, history, geography, and global studies.

The ideal candidate holds a NJ Social Studies teaching certification (or eligibility) with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• New Jersey teaching certification in Social Studies (or eligibility)
• Experience teaching middle school or upper elementary preferred
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned social studies instruction for middle school students
• Implement lessons aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Social Studies
• Foster inquiry-based learning through primary and secondary source analysis, discussion, writing, and projects
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English language learners and students with IEPs
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams and participate in professional development
