Job summary

Valmont Industries in Columbus, NE, seeks an experienced Receiving and Inventory Control Specialist to manage site receiving, material storage, and data entry for parts and kits. You will verify supplier paperwork, inspect materials, and ensure accurate storage while coordinating with production timelines.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and overhead cranes, performing TPM checks, and maintaining accurate reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired.
• Knowledge of various receiving and inventory storage procedures.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to learn and work according to Valmont’s environmental policies.
• Prior forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• An understanding of job-related programs.
• Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices.
• Experience with IFS software systems.
• Ability to work independently on tasks to meet deadlines.
• Able to analyze situations to resolve problems.
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for site receiving and inventory control for small parts.
• Receive against supplier paperwork and inspect materials for quality as received.
• Control movement of materials to work stations or storage areas as required.
• Check incoming raw material against supplier paperwork and BOL.
• Note discrepancies on receipt and verify markings, PO alignment and tests.
• Receive and unload materials; catalog and mark for correct storage.
• Enter data and complete required reports; distribute paperwork to the appropriate person.
• Assemble kits per manufacturing requirements ahead of schedule.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes; perform TPM inspections daily.
• Contribute to safety initiatives and comply with Valmont safety policies.
