Job summary

California State University, Fresno's Teacher Resource Center seeks a Temporary Library Teacher Resource Center Specialist to join the Fresno State Library. You will deliver customer service at the TRC desk, help manage the collection, and support exhibits, outreach, and guide creation, under supervision of the Dean.

You will assist with selection and deselection, contribute LibGuides, and help staff programs and events while coordinating with student workers and faculty to meet TRC needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of related library and/or administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Completion of a high school education or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of library terminology and circulation/records management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the TRC service point including assisting patrons in person, by phone and via email.
• Maintain TRC stacks and shelve materials.
• Prepare displays, exhibits, and reading lists to market the TRC collection.
• Participate in the collection development process (selection and deselection) including coordination of TRC deselection and purchase suggestions.
• Create LibGuides and other educational materials for TRC.
• Coordinate, plan, and staff programming and events (readings, course visits, etc).
• Create content, book lists, and event descriptions for website.
• Provide backup oversight of TRC student assistants
• Maintain and coordinate marketing materials for TRC.
• Coordinate cataloging and records management of TRC materials.
• Prepare and maintain statistical records and reports.
