Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago is seeking a dedicated teacher responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan lessons, implement engaging instruction, and maintain records.

You will communicate with parents, participate in staff meetings, support attendance initiatives, and contribute to after-school activities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework for Illinois certification.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).
• Knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain attendance and records of pupil progress.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback.
• Establish classroom rules and manage behavior in line with district policies.
• Coordinate field trips and participate in after-school activities.
