Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher to instruct, monitor progress, and manage classroom discipline in assigned classes. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan lessons, prepare materials, and maintain records of student achievement while applying current teaching methods and curriculum content.

You will communicate with parents, participate in staff meetings, and may coordinate field trips or after-school activities, while upholding CPS discipline codes and promoting

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and required coursework to obtain an Illinois teaching certificate.
• Hold a valid ISBE license: PEL or ELS.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and prepare written lesson plans.
• Deliver instruction and assess pupil progress.
• Maintain attendance records and seating charts; enforce discipline per policy.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress, attendance and conduct.
• Participate in in-service and professional staff meetings; support after‑school activities.
