Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a qualified teacher to plan and deliver instruction, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records for students in assigned classes.

You will implement contemporary teaching methods, manage the classroom to create a positive learning environment, communicate with parents, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement and school improvement. You may participate in in-service meetings and after-school activities as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain an Illinois teaching certificate.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and teaching practices.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Apply contemporary teaching methods and curriculum content.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Maintain classroom discipline per district policies and codes.
• Coordinate field trips and participate in after-school activities as needed.
