Job summary

The Division of Criminal Justice in Hartford, CT is seeking a DCJ Juvenile Investigator to conduct investigations related to juvenile delinquency offenses and Families With Service Needs petitions. The position works Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with possible travel within the state.

Responsibilities include screening and prioritizing incoming files, obtaining documents, locating individuals, preparing case synopses, and reporting to prosecutors while assisting victims with case

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a law enforcement officer.
• A Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field may be substituted for the General Experience.
• Experience using computers to work with law enforcement agencies to secure and manage digital evidence such as photographs, videos, 911 calls, and recordings from body and dashboard cameras.

Responsibilities

• In juvenile matters interviews clients and victims.
• Locates and interviews potential witnesses.
• Acts as a liaison with law enforcement agencies.
• P repares charts and diagrams related to trial.
• Maintains liaison with DCJ Inspectors, DCJ Investigators, probation staff and other agencies.
• May testify on results of investigations.
• Performs related duties as required.
