Job summary

The Division of Criminal Justice is seeking a Temporary Investigator for the Hartford Community Court Enhancement project. The grant-funded role is located in Hartford and ends on September 30, 2028. Travel within the state may be required, with the possibility of out-of-state travel; travel costs will be covered.

A background check will be required. Responsibilities include applying knowledge of law enforcement to community-based operations and reviewing digital evidence such as video, 911

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a criminal justice related field.
• 3 years of law enforcement experience or law enforcement adjacent experience; preference given to experience in community-based policing
• Experience with arrest and search warrant reports
• Experience with the Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience or ability to learn to use case management systems

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will possess working knowledge of law enforcement, community-based law enforcement, standard office procedures and computer software programs.
• Ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations; work with agencies to secure and review digital evidence such as video, 911 calls, and body/dashboard cameras
