Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking instructors to lead classes across Athletics, Recreation, Fine Arts, and Community Education. You will design instructional programs, prepare lesson plans, and present material demonstrating proper techniques while managing classroom activities.

You will develop engaging, safe, and accessible classes for all ages and abilities, applying safety measures and maintaining professionalism in a faith-based organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in instruction or teaching related areas is required.
• Certification or degree in a related field is required.
• Must have up-to-date personal insurance prior to employment.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching group exercise programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction aligned with class/program goals.
• Develop and deliver engaging, energetic classes for all ages.
• Implement safety measures to protect participants.
• Maintain professional demeanor with participants and staff.
• Communicate program health and safety policies with the manager.
