Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a CULINARY HOT PREP COOK for Utah Jazz & Utah Mammoth at the Delta Center. You will support the culinary team by preparing hot items for game days, concerts, and events, following Levy recipes and food-safety standards.

Responsibilities include cooking according to specifications, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with setup and breakdown. This role suits someone who thrives in a busy, high-energy environment and values teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Cook, line cook, prep cook, or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods.
• Ability to work a flexible event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Utah Food Handler Permit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot menu items such as grilled items, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and other cooked foods according to recipes and specifications.
• Follow proper food-safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace-safety standards at all times.
• Assist with food station setup and breakdown before and after events.
• Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and meets quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas.
• Follow portion-control guidelines, production standards, and chef instructions.
• Monitor ingredients and supplies and notify supervisors when stock levels are low.
• Respond quickly to the needs of the kitchen and service team during high-volume periods.
• Work efficiently and safely in a busy, high-energy event environment.
• Complete additional duties as assigned based on event and business needs.
