BASIS DC is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach Honors / AP Chemistry and a Forensic Science Capstone for seniors. Immediate start – December 4, 2026. Substitute Teachers support students in grades 5 through 12 with lesson plans and a positive learning environment.

Bachelor’s degree in the subject area (or 24+ credit hours) and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required; Master’s degree and 2+ years teaching experience are preferred. BASIS DC offers competitive benefits.

• Bachelor’s degree in the subject or 24+ credit hours in the subject area.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Master’s degree in subject matter or education (preferred).
• 2+ years teaching/education experience (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate provided lesson plans.
• Provide instruction at a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive environment.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement and respect.
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch/study hall.
• Arrive on time and remain available for the full duration of assignments.
• Supervise individual students and groups as assigned.
