Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools’ Carrboro High School in Carrboro, NC is seeking a licensed Science Teacher for grades 9-12. The salary is NC Teacher Salary plus an 18% supplement with full benefits and a 10-month work year.

You will design lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement. Applicants must be licensed or eligible, highly qualified in high school science, and have prior high school experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible to be licensed in 9-12 science.
• Must be designated as HIGHLY QUALIFIED in high school science.
• Previous experience in high school science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Establishes and maintains classroom behavior standards.
• Guides learning to achieve curriculum goals and communicates objectives.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Evaluates student progress and maintains records.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
• Collaborates with colleagues to promote a positive learning environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
