Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging, safe fitness classes that support members’ health and wellness.

You will create a welcoming environment, provide clear instruction, and adapt movements for all fitness levels while upholding the YMCA five core values. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Flexible scheduling, opportunities to connect with members and other Y programs, and a commitment to safety and quality instruction.

Qualifications

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training upon hire.
Previous experience teaching group exercise classes preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead safe, effective, and engaging group exercise classes in accordance with organizational standards and program guidelines.
Demonstrate and provide clear instruction on proper exercise techniques, including modifications and progressions to accommodate different fitness levels.
Create a positive and inclusive class environment that encourages member participation and engagement.
Monitor participant safety during classes and respond appropriately to injuries or emergency situations.
