Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking a Freight Handler to keep freight moving safely and on time in a fast-paced dock environment at Commerce, CA. You will load, unload, tag, and move shipments with high accuracy, following work orders and safety rules.

This role emphasizes operating forklifts and other equipment, maintaining clean, organized docks, and coordinating with dock supervisors to support throughput goals and a culture of safety and accountability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift driver qualification required.
• Hazardous Materials Training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Experience in freight, logistics, warehouse, or LTL environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to prioritize, multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, stack, and secure freight with accuracy to prevent damage.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Transport freight between dock areas, trailers, and storage zones.
• Communicate with operations leadership and dock supervisors to surface issues.
• Maintain safety, accuracy, and throughput standards.
