Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking Freight Handlers to join our Seattle service center. You will perform high‑precision loading, unloading, tagging, and movement of shipments, keeping throughput steady and ensuring safety and quality at every step.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and other equipment, maintaining dock readiness, and coordinating with team leads. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 1–3 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift driver qualification required.
• Hazardous Material Training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience in freight, logistics, warehouse, or LTL environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to prioritise, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute high‑precision freight handling: Load, unload, stack, and secure freight with accuracy and care to prevent damage. Follow work orders and verbal instructions to determine freight movement priorities.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other equipment to move freight and secure it in trailers; maintain equipment cleanliness and safety protocols.
• Maintain dock flow and operational readiness by transporting freight and keeping areas clean and hazard-free; assist cross-functional teams as needed.
• Coordinate with operations leadership and dock supervisors; surface issues and delays with urgency and clarity.
• Uphold safety, accuracy, and performance standards; manage multiple tasks in a high velocity environment.
