Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking a Freight Handler to keep freight moving safely and efficiently in a fast-paced dock environment. You will perform high-accuracy loading/unloading, tagging, and movement of shipments across a metro-to-metro network, with a focus on throughput and minimal rehandling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift driver qualification required.
• Hazardous Material Training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience in freight, logistics, warehouse, or LTL environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-precision freight handling with load/unload, stack, and secure freight to prevent damage.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other equipment to move freight safely.
• Maintain dock flow by transporting freight between dock areas and designated storage zones; keep areas clean and hazard-free.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with operations leadership and dock supervisors; surface issues with clarity and urgency.
• Uphold safety, accuracy, and performance standards; meet timelines without sacrificing quality; adapt to fast-changing priorities.
