Job summary

The Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) seeks a Construction/Maintenance Technician to service the facility, grounds, and equipment. With 2+ years in building trades, you will perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in one or more building trades
• Four years of experience in one or more building trades for Tech II (as applicable)

Responsibilities

• Performs carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings or additions; erects and maintains scaffolds, forms, frames, fences; repairs doors, floors, windows, and fixtures; glazes glass; maintains and repairs roofs.
• Installs, replaces and repairs plumbing fixtures; minor repairs to laundry, sterilization, kitchen equipment; maintains water, steam, or other lines.
• Maintains and repairs light fixtures, receptacles, switches; replaces bulbs; maintains generators and motors; oiling and cleaning motors; electrical repairs not requiring a license; minor HVAC equipment repairs.
• Installs and maintains locks and security devices; changes tumblers; uses tools to change combinations.
• Constructs and repairs foundations; builds walls, fireplaces, chimneys, stairs; Lays bricks, blocks, stone.
• Operates and repairs equipment used in construction and maintenance (tractors, trucks, forklifts, mowers, etc.).
• Demonstrates knowledge of mission, confidentiality, ethics; ability to multi-task; works well in a team; communicates effectively.
