Allied Universal® Event Services is hiring Event Staff in Berkeley, CA, offering part-time, supplemental income with weekly pay for college sporting events and other venues.

This role focuses on safety, guest experience, and responsive service, with responsibilities including bag checks, access control, and ticket verification. Flexible hours and a supportive team environment are emphasized, with pay starting at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• Background investigation and post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test required; may require screening for driving a company vehicle.
• Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow entry into venues, verify tickets and wristbands, direct traffic.
• Screen guests via bag search, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff and assets by monitoring for security breaches at checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to crowd control issues and escort unruly guests when needed.
• Explain policies, procedures and venue regulations to guests.
• Provide friendly directions and enhance guests' entertainment experience.
