Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Specialist Events Parking Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and manage parking and transportation logistics for campus events and visitors. You will serve as the main liaison for event organizers, partners, and external stakeholders, developing customized plans that ensure safety, efficiency, and a positive attendee experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required; work experience may substitute for education.
Valid driver’s license in US, 21+ years old, 3 years driving experience, and acceptable MVR.
Strong organizational skills and customer-service orientation.
Experience in event coordination, parking operations, transportation services, facilities management, or related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement detailed parking plans for events based on attendance, venue, and resources.
Coordinate with event organizers, facility management, and internal departments to assess needs and allocate resources.
Monitor operations during events; adjust plans to optimize traffic flow and space utilization.
Maintain event records, databases, and post-event reports; support billing and invoicing processes.
Provide backup front-office support for customer service, permit services, or parking enforcement as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and departmental policies.
