Job summary

C&J Catering is seeking a Cook to assist the Sous Chefs with meal preparation, cooking, and basic kitchen duties. You will wash and chop vegetables, cut meat, and help with sauces while maintaining a clean, safe environment in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires English proficiency and the ability to work nights and weekends, with the potential for event-day shifts. A high school diploma is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Culinary experience preferred.
• Excellent knife skills preferred. Ability to follow directions required.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with a 5-year clean driving background.
• Fluency in English required.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sous Chefs with preparing and cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables and cutting meat.
• Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces and parboiling food; prepare simple and some complex dishes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen; wash dishes and sanitize surfaces.
• Uphold safety and sanitation procedures throughout the kitchen.
• Support sales and kitchen staff and adapt to last-minute changes as needed.
