Job summary

Mountain Views Supervisory Union is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Elementary Physical Education Teacher to provide engaging PE instruction across elementary grades during an extended absence. The role requires building positive relationships, delivering developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Bachelor's degree and Vermont PE endorsement are required; experience with elementary students preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Education or experience in physical education or related field preferred.
• Experience with elementary students is preferred.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate movement activities and PE practices.
• Ability to create safe, inclusive, active learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons aligned with curriculum and Vermont standards.
• Teach fundamental movement, fitness concepts, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
• Provide clear demonstrations and constructive feedback.
• Engage students in varied activities and differentiate for diverse abilities.
• Maintain routines, safety, and continuity of the PE program.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student needs.
• Complete required records and participate in meetings and trainings.
