Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education with a valid NC teaching certificate.
• Ability to plan lessons meeting state and district guidelines.
• Demonstrates strong content knowledge and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs of students and is compatible with guidelines.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for stated objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and maintain class order fairly.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and evaluate their performance.
• Strive to maintain professional competence and participate in school development.
• Attend staff meetings and carry out duties as required.
