The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Teacher) to join our full-time school-based team in Charlottesville, VA.

This rewarding opportunity allows you to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by providing specialized instruction, fostering communication development, and helping students achieve academic success in an inclusive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Virginia teaching certification with Deaf or Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Experience with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEP goals.
• Assess student performance and monitor development.
• Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting.
• Support language acquisition, literacy development, and communication skills.
• Consult with families and school staff on accommodations.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with guidelines.
