The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Teacher) to join our full-time school-based team in Indianapolis, IN. You will provide specialized instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, supporting language development and literacy within an inclusive learning environment.

You will collaborate with teachers, families, interpreters, and related service providers to implement individualized instructional strategies and contribute to IEP goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• License to teach in Indiana (K-6).
• Knowledge of hearing loss, communication methods, and educational strategies for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students.
• Experience with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEP goals and educational plans.
• Assess student performance and monitor academic, social, and communication development.
• Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies to support student success.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting.
• Support language acquisition, literacy development, self-advocacy, and communication skills.
• Consult with families and school staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines.
