Job summary

Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor to design and deliver engaging dance instruction for all ages at Grand Rapids, Michigan. Instructors will prepare lesson plans, maintain safety, and foster a positive learning environment within Salvation Army programs.

Responsibilities include developing programs, teaching diverse groups, and collaborating with program managers to schedule classes while upholding health, safety and faith-based guidelines.

Qualifications

• Appropriate prior experience teaching or working in the area of instruction specified.
• Certification or a degree in a related field or level of expertise is required.
• Must have up-to-date personal insurance prior to employment.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching various or specific group exercise program’s

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students of all ages and ability levels in related subject areas.
• Design instructional programs, prepare lesson plans and materials.
• Implement safety measures for classes to ensure health and safety of participants.
• Ensure the goal of spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration is represented in programs.
• Instruct with sound principles and develop, implement, evaluate programs and classes.
• Maintain communication with the program manager/coordinator regarding class development and scheduling.
• Provide a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment.
