Job summary

The City of Clearwater is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to create, promote, and implement all recreation programs across its facilities. You will manage calendars, pricing, and staffing for after-school, camp, and special events, while delivering strong customer service and coordinating with instructors and guest speakers.

Required: a High School Diploma or GED and two years of related experience; a valid driver's license is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus two years of customer service, recreational, or program development experience.
• Knowledge of recreation programs, classes, activities, and marketing a focus.
• Strong customer service and ability to engage facility patrons.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, implements and monitors programming, activities, and other services for the recreation facilities.
• Manages participation numbers in RecTrac, maximizes fitness center, multi-purpose space, gymnasium and field usage, and markets and promotes programs.
• Develops, organizes, and implements after-school and camp programs, special events, curriculum, and activity guidelines.
• Greets and assists patrons; answers phones, provides online responses, and handles information requests.
• Maintains, monitors, and tracks expenditures; submits financial paperwork and tracks purchases.
• Interviews, hires, and oversees summer staff and program staff; creates work schedules and ensures policy adherence.
