Job summary

gpac is recruiting a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join a well-established law firm in Portland, ME or Concord, NH. This role offers exposure to sophisticated commercial matters in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include handling matters from inception through resolution, researching, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and representing clients in court appearances and mediations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience managing cases and meeting deadlines independently.
• Licensed to practice in Maine and/or New Hampshire (or ability to waive in).
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Manage discovery, including depositions and document review
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and mediations
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide high-quality legal counsel
