The candidate will manage matters from inception through resolution, with meaningful client contact and courtroom exposure, in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active state bar admission.
• 3–5 years of litigation experience.
• Experience handling commercial litigation preferred.
• Strong litigation skills: motion practice, research/writing, discovery management.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex commercial litigation matters through all phases of litigation.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and discovery documents.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies with case teams.
• Conduct depositions and witness interviews.
• Manage written discovery and document production.
• Prepare for and argue motions in state and federal courts.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate with clients regarding strategy, case developments, and risk assessment.
• Stay informed regarding legal developments affecting clients and litigation strategy.
• Support business development, including client presentations and networking.

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate (3-5 years) to join its Commercial Disputes practice in Portland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation associate looking to take on significant responsibility in sophisticated commercial disputes while working closely with experienced litigators in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will manage complex matters from inception through resolution and gain meaningful client contact and courtroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex commercial litigation matters through all phases of litigation
• Conduct legal research and draft:
  • Pleadings
  • Motions
  • Briefs
  • Memoranda
  • Discovery-related documents
• Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with case teams
• Conduct depositions and witness interviews
• Manage written discovery and document production
• Prepare for and argue motions in state and federal courts
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding strategy, case developments, and risk assessment
• Stay informed regarding legal developments affecting clients and litigation strategy

• Active membership in good standing with the applicable state bar
• 3-5 years of litigation experience
• Experience handling commercial litigation matters preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting
• Experience with electronic discovery platforms and litigation support tools
• Admission in California or Washington is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200,000 - $240,000 annually
