Qualifications

• Completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements; ability to implement instructional planning and assessment.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs and to collaborate with staff, parents, and community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligning to the curriculum and instructional program objectives.
• Develop and implement written lesson plans and monitor pupil progress with accurate records.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a safe learning environment in accordance with CPS policies.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns; participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Coordinate field trips or extracurricular activities as needed.
