Job summary

The Mary Campbell Center seeks a C&Y Program Specialist to assist in coordinating and implementing programs of activities that promote meaningful relationships and independent living for children of varying ages and developmental abilities.

You will lead activities, supervise staff and volunteers, arrange supplies, document outcomes, coordinate trips, and maintain safety and quality standards in a warm, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 12 credit hours toward a degree in child development, special education or related field.
• Minimum three years' experience working with children with special needs in a group setting.
• Ability to motivate participation, supervise staff and volunteers, and manage programs.
• Ability to lift and transfer children (adult weight) and assist with personal care.
• Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and overseeing Children and Youth program participants in person and virtually.
• Lead program activities and supervise departmental staff, volunteers and participants.
• Develop activities and obtain supplies for diverse age groups.
• Follow procedures for management of allocated funds and budgeting.
• Coordinate vehicles, pool use, trips and outside venues.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and quality care at all times.
• Maintain documentation, reports and communications with families.
