Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) seeks a Director of Finance to lead the firm’s financial strategy and performance from our Northbrook, IL headquarters.

The role partners with the Controller and finance team to ensure GAAP compliance, accurate reporting, and sound financial planning aligned with corporate objectives. The successful candidate will bring 15+ years in accounting/finance, an MBA or CPA, and a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA/CPA highly desirable.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible accounting/financial roles, preferably in professional services.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills; fluency with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to guide long- and short-term objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and consolidated reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting across multi-jurisdiction operations.
• Lead operational finance efforts including invoicing, collections, and Workday/Deltek data continuity.
