Job summary

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks an Associate Accounting Analyst for its Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. The role focuses on ensuring accounting controls, closing procedures, forecast and budget support, and accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with 2 years of related experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP or ERP systems. Strong analytical and communication abilities are essential.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
2 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SAP/ERP systems is preferred.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls.
Perform closing procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Collaborate on forecasts and budgets.
Monitor general ledger integrity and systems.
Prepare internal and external financial reports.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and Sarbanes‑Oxley.
Provide backup and rotate responsibilities.
Analyze large data sets and maintain complex spreadsheets.
Utilize forecasting, reporting, and GL software.
Communicate financial statements and month-end closing data.
Proactively improve processes and business solutions.
Work additional hours during certain month-end periods.
