Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related discipline (required).
• NYS Teaching Certification preferred, certification pathway support offered.
• One year of teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
• Knowledge around students with disabilities, specifically high-functioning autism spectrum disorders (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with co-teachers to improve classroom practices and support school goals.
• Plan and deliver rigorous instruction to diverse groups of students.
• Solicit and incorporate feedback to improve instructional practice.
• Maintain an orderly, conducive learning environment with clear routines and expectations.
• Provide meaningful feedback and measure student achievement using appropriate assessments.
• Support state exams testing accommodations and data-driven instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to engage all learners and develop IEP/behavior plans as needed.
• Develop strong partnerships with families to support student learning.
