Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated Teacher for a 10-month assignment starting in late summer. The role offers a starting annual salary of $64,000 with eligibility for the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) that can raise total compensation up to $102,800 for high-performing educators.

TIAs include opportunities to earn up to an extra $32,000 annually based on performance and continued service, with detailed payout scales for various experience levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
• Texas Educator Certification, or willing to join ACP to get certified
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology
• Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms

Responsibilities

• Developing rigorous lessons in your content area, in 1:1 blended learning environments to reignite students for college
• Setting ambitious goals with students and monitoring their progress with regular feedback
• Tracking student growth and using data to create growth plans when needed
• Building relationships with students and families through regular communication
• Creating a conducive classroom environment for learning and development
• Collaborating with co-planner on daily lesson plans and resources
• Meeting deadlines for lesson plans, grades, and work samples
• Working with teams to provide consistency, support, and accountability
• Participating in professional development to improve student learning
• Conducting weekly tutorials for extra instruction and support
• Supervising on-campus activities for student safety
• Growing professionally through feedback from DOI, School Leader, Admin Team
• Being available for campus leaders, students, and parents via phone/email/Video
• Providing personal care services as needed
• Taking on additional duties as assigned
