Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston seeks a dedicated Teacher for a 10-month role starting in late 2023/2024. Beginning salary is $64,000 with eligibility for Teacher Incentive Allotment payouts up to $102,800 based on performance.

The district is TEA-approved for TIA, offering additional annual incentive opportunities. Roles include delivering rigorous instruction, tracking student growth, and maintaining strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Texas Educator Certification, or willing to join ACP to get certified.
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
• Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms.
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing rigorous lessons in your specific content area, in 1:1 blended learning environments, to reignite students for college and beyond.
• Setting ambitious goals with students and monitoring progress with frequent feedback.
• Tracking student growth and using data and coach feedback to create growth plans.
• Building strong relationships with students and families through regular communication.
• Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ development.
• Collaborating with co-planner to tailor daily lesson plans and resources.
