Job summary

American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an Elementary School teacher for a 10-month position. You will plan blended instruction in core subjects, align to state standards, and collaborate with SPED staff to support diverse learners.

You will use technology to drive achievement, communicate with parents, and participate in data-driven TAP initiatives. A bachelor’s degree and LA teaching license (K-5 or 6) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area.
• Valid Louisiana Teaching License for Grades K-5 or 6.
• Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement.
• Demonstrated volunteer or community service.
• At least one of: National Board Certification, TAP Experience, Core Knowledge Experience, Experience with Blended Learning, 2+ years of urban teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a blended learning environment across Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Health, and Mathematics based on state standards.
• Participate in TAP requirements with data-driven instruction.
• Create an inviting, innovative learning environment fostering critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Prepare students for strong academic achievement and required assessments.
• Communicate regularly with parents and track student progress with data and feedback.
• Collaborate with Special Education teachers and administration for needs of all students.
• Attend grade level and staff meetings and designated school functions outside of hours.
• Establish and enforce behavior rules and classroom procedures; be open to feedback from administration.
• Perform morning, lunch, dismissal, and after-school duties as needed.
