Job summary

GEO Next Generation High School seeks an Elementary School Teacher in Baton Rouge, LA, to deliver instruction in core subjects using blended-learning approaches aligned with state standards. You will create an engaging classroom, assess progress, and communicate with families to support student achievement.

The position requires a valid K-5 or 6 teaching license, a bachelor’s degree, and experience with data-driven instruction and technology integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 24 content hours in content area.
• Valid State Teaching License for Grades K-5 or 6.
• Strong technology integration to drive achievement.
• Volunteer or community service demonstrated.
• NB Certification, Core Knowledge, Blended Learning, urban teaching experience.
• Two years of successful urban teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement blended learning with direct/indirect instruction in Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Health and Math.
• Create an inviting, engaging classroom that builds critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Prepare students for assessments and support strong academic growth.
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress and needs.
• Assess progress with data; provide daily feedback and weekly assessments.
• Collaborate with Special Education staff to support diverse learners.
• Establish and enforce behavior rules and classroom procedures.
• Accept feedback and coaching from administration.
• Attend required staff meetings and school functions outside hours.
• Perform morning, lunchtime, dismissal, and after-school duties.
• Carry out additional duties as requested by the principal.
