Job summary

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill is seeking a vigilant Duty Security Officer with a focus on guest safety and service. This flexi-hours, on-site role requires patrols, access control, and incident response to uphold the hotel’s security standards.

You will work closely with teams to maintain a welcoming environment, support emergency procedures, and contribute to a safe guest experience. First Aid certification is a plus or may be pursued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security, hospitality, or similar operational role is advantageous.
• First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, back of house, and hotel grounds to ensure safety.
• Monitor access points, verify IDs, and manage visitor entry procedures for authorised entry.
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies following hotel procedures.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and liaise with management and authorities as needed.
• Carry out safety inspections and support fire, health, and safety regs.
• Assist with evacuations and security-related training initiatives.
• Provide visible, proactive service to guests while maintaining security.
• Assist with vehicle access and car park operations for smooth movement.

Duties and responsibilities related to the Duty Security Officer- Flexi Hours role

• Conduct regular patrols across guest areas, back of house spaces, and hotel grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors.
• Monitor access points, verify identification, and manage visitor entry procedures to ensure only authorised individuals enter the property.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, accidents, and guest concerns, following established hotel procedures.
• Investigate incidents, prepare accurate reports and statements, and liaise with management and external authorities when required.
• Carry out routine safety inspections to identify potential hazards and support compliance with fire, health, and safety regulations.
• Support emergency preparedness by assisting with evacuations, first aid responses, and security-related training initiatives.
• Provide a visible and approachable presence throughout the hotel, delivering excellent customer service while promoting guest confidence and wellbeing.
• Assist with vehicle access management and car park operations, ensuring the smooth and safe movement of members, guests, suppliers, and contractors.

About you

We are looking for a professional, vigilant, and customer-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Previous experience in a security, hospitality, or similar operational role would be highly advantageous, with hotel security experience being particularly beneficial.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgement under pressure, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. A commitment to health and safety and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences are essential. First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain it, would be an advantage.
