Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Specialist

Provides concierge-level care in managing member inquiries related to DME, ensuring compliance with Medicare and regulatory requirements.

  1. Act as the first point of contact for member inquiries related to DME via telephone and email.
  2. Work closely with members to manage and analyze their financial transactions, ensuring compliance with Medicare and other regulations.
  3. Serve as a liaison between members and vendors to determine pricing and facilitate DME orders.
  4. Identify and resolve member needs to deliver an excellent customer experience promptly.
  5. Resolve service issues by identifying causes and implementing solutions.
  6. Maintain customer accounts by updating information as needed.
  7. Document all communications, upload relevant documents, and keep concise notes in the internal database.
  8. Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service within DME, healthcare, Medicare, insurance, case management, or workers’ compensation.
  • Proven success in prioritizing customer satisfaction and willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, managing files, data entry, and office terminology.
  • Over 1 year of DME experience managing documentation and orders, with a basic understanding of medical terminology and DME equipment.
  • Knowledge of settlement documents, Worker’s Compensation, and MSA terminology (preferred).
  • Multilingual abilities, with a preference for Spanish (preferred).
  • Availability to work 8 hours within 8am to 8pm EST, with flexibility for shift changes.
  • Spanish speaking skills are a plus but not required.

The estimated salary range is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, with potential variation based on experience, skills, and location. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation.
