Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn, AL is seeking a Durability Product Development Technician to fabricate transducers, apply strain gauges, and wire instrumentation for vehicle testing.

You will document results, install sensors on engines and driveline components, and troubleshoot instrumented vehicles. Expect fixture building, welding, and occasional trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds for data acquisitions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certification or automotive degree preferred.
• Experience with suspension/driveline systems and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate transducers to measure strain, displacement, rotation, etc.
• Apply strain gauges and wiring to engine, driveline, chassis and body components.
• Document results and instrument data for Road Test Simulator testing.
• Install wheel force transducers and accelerometers on vehicles for data acquisition.
• Troubleshoot instrumented vehicles and transducers.
• Build fixtures for MAST testing; welding, machining, and disassembly of prototype components.
• Occasional day trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds to support data acquisitions.
