Stellantis in Auburn, AL is seeking a Durability Product Development Technician to fabricate transducers, apply strain gauges, and wire instrumentation for vehicle testing.
You will document results, install sensors on engines and driveline components, and troubleshoot instrumented vehicles. Expect fixture building, welding, and occasional trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds for data acquisitions.
The Data Acquisition RTS Group - Durability Product Development Technician is responsible for the fabrication of transducers to measure strain, displacement, rotation, etc., application of strain gages and wiring to engine, driveline, chassis and body components/systems. The position requires documentation of results and vehicle instrumentation for Road Test Simulator data acquisitions for 329 Road Simulator and MAST testing - including installation of wheel force transducers, other force transducers, accelerometers, displacement transducers, etc. on vehicles for road load data acquisition. In addition, the Mechanic/Technician will troubleshoot instrumented vehicles / transducers. Additional responsibilities include fixture building for MAST testing, welding, machining, and disassembly of prototype vehicle chassis/driveline components. Day trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds to support data acquisitions are required.
