Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Durability Product Development Technician to fabricate transducers and apply strain gauges on engine, driveline, and chassis components for road load data acquisition. You will document results and support Road Test Simulator data collection across 329 Road Simulator and MAST testing.

The role requires welding, machining and fixture building, with occasional travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience as a mechanic or technician, familiarity with suspension/driveline systems and components, experience with fabrication skills such as welding & machining.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment. Flexibility to attend day trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds to support data acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate transducers to measure strain, displacement, rotation, etc., and apply strain gauges and wiring to engine, driveline, chassis and body components/systems.
  • Document results and vehicle instrumentation for Road Test Simulator data acquisitions for 329 Road Simulator and MAST testing.
  • Install wheel force transducers and other sensors on vehicles for road load data acquisition.
  • Troubleshoot instrumented vehicles / transducers.
  • Fixture building for MAST testing, welding, machining, and disassembly of prototype vehicle chassis/driveline components.
  • Day trips to Chelsea Proving Grounds to support data acquisitions.
