Job summary

Luzerne County is seeking an Alcohol Highway Safety School Instructor (AHSS) & Program Aid to administer AHSS classes and CRN evaluations for DUI cases. The role supports the DUI Program Coordinator and coordinates with the Courts, Probation Services, and Community Service monitoring.

The position requires an Associates Degree, a valid driver’s license, and mandatory AHSS Instructor Certification with recertification every two years, plus CRN Evaluator certification.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• AHSS Instructor Certification required with recertification every two years.
• CRN Evaluator certification required with recertification every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scheduling and conducting AHSS classes for Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.
• Assist in scheduling and conducting CRN evaluations for DUI offenders subject to ARD or convicted.
• Report outcomes of AHSS classes and CRN evaluations to the DUI Program Coordinator; maintain compliant documentation.
• Post data on payments received and monies owed for AHSS, CRN, and Community Service to accounting records.
• Maintain caseloads within Probation Services records management system and coordinate with Probation Officers.
• Other duties as directed by a supervisor.
