Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Florida is seeking a Dual-Site Transfer Station Manager to supervise operations at the Lutz and Brandon facilities, ensuring safety, throughput, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead a team, coordinate maintenance, and manage scalehouse and transportation workflows, with travel between sites as needed. Strong supervisory experience in waste operations and SWANA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years of experience in waste/transfer station, aggregate/rock crushing, or landfill operations with at least 1 year of supervision.
• Must possess (or obtain within 60 days of hire) SWANA Certified Transfer Station Operator.
• Willingness to travel regularly between Lutz and Brandon facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct operational oversight for Lutz and Brandon Transfer Stations, traveling between sites as needed.
• Oversee daily waste intake, floor management, sorting, and traffic flow on the tipping floor to maximize throughput.
• Oversee rock crushing/processing operations, monitor feed rates and stockpile management.
• Lead recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for site personnel.
• Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations, conduct safety meetings and audits.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs for site infrastructure and heavy equipment.
• Oversee scalehouse operations, weight measurement, and daily reconciliation.
• Monitor inventory of parts and safety equipment; manage contractor/hauler relations.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed to maintain operations.
