Qualifications

Valid Illinois educator license with stipulations appropriate for paraprofessional, professional, or substitute roles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Effective interpersonal skills
Experience working with children preferred
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Responsibilities

Facilitate and monitor small group and one-on-one instruction, reinforcing skills and concepts.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff.
Update and maintain student records, progress, attendance, scores, and personal information.
Prepare instructional materials for class or pull-out groups.
Prepare supplies and equipment for lessons.
Participate in meetings and professional development as assigned by administrator.
Provide cover for fellow workers when needed; may support special education students.
Monitor students in various settings to ensure a safe learning environment.
Assist with before/after school, lunch, and recess supervision.
Follow district policies and procedures and ethical standards.
