Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Dual Language Instructional Leadership Team member to support and facilitate the district’s bilingual program, informing curricular, instructional and assessment decisions across its implementation. This role reports to the Director of Assessment and English Learner Programming and engages with educators, administrators, parents and students.

The position is a 2026-2027 contract with an hourly rate per the CBA, approximately 12 hours beyond contract time plus 12 hours release

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, technical procedures, and textbooks.
• Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
• Strong oral and written presentation skills with diverse audiences.
• Experience providing instruction in biliteracy settings and dual language components.
• Familiarity with research on multilingual learners’ programming.

Responsibilities

• Attend all Dual Language Instructional Leadership Meetings as required.
• Actively engage in work related to the committee’s tasks and meetings.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of the district’s dual language implementation plan.
• Conduct work related to the committee’s purpose both during and outside of committee meetings.
• All other duties as assigned by the committee chair.

Qualifications:

• Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and textbooks.
• Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
• Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators, administrators, parents, students, and the general public.
• Experience providing instruction in biliteracy settings, including the implementation of dual language program components.
• Familiarity with research on effective educational programming for multilingual learners.
