Job summary

Hartford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for Dwight Bellizzi Dual Language Academy (PK4-8). The role focuses on instructional leadership, MTSS, and growing a 50:50 dual-language program with magnet status.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in urban education, multilingual settings, and family/community engagement, with strong knowledge of ARC curriculum and magnet development. This role reports to the Principal and/or Superintendent’s designee.

Qualifications

• Instructional leadership across PK4–8 in urban and multicultural settings.
• Strong knowledge of 50:50 dual-language model and magnet development.
• Experience with MTSS, IEP integration, and equitable practices.
• Ability to lead program expansion to PK4–8 magnet model.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with principal to evaluate and improve academic programs.
• Oversee dual-language fidelity and expansion into 6th–8th grade.
• Lead MTSS and ensure IEP services are integrated with dual-language.
• Translate district policies into actionable guidance for staff and families.
