Job summary

Milford Public Schools seeks a Dual Language Kindergarten Classroom Teaching Assistant for Memorial Elementary School in Milford, MA. The role requires Spanish-dominant instruction and collaboration with the Kindergarten team for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• All classroom duties to be performed in Spanish.
• Lead small groups and follow plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Work collaboratively with the Kindergarten teacher and other professionals.
• Participate in professional learning opportunities as directed by administration and the classroom teacher.
• Assist with bathrooming skills of Kindergarten students.
• Align classroom practices with Dual Language Education research and student needs.

Position:Dual Language Kindergarten Classroom Teaching Assistant SY26-27

Schedule: 2026-2027 School Year

Qualifications

• Bilingual; fluent in Spanish, required
• Proof of Spanish proficiency via Spanish MTEL, WPT/OPI, or other pathway as approved in DESE Guidance for the Provision of Interpreters in the Education Setting (p. 7 and 8), required within the first year of employment
• Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred;
• Experience working with students at the early childhood level
• Experience working with English learners (ELs)
• Experience working with students with disabilities
• Whole classroom setting experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Strong organizational skills;
• Work collaboratively with the assigned Kindergarten teacher and other professionals in the classroom;
• Participate in professional learning opportunities as directed by building and district administration and the classroom teacher;
• Willingness to assist with bathrooming skills of Kindergarten students;
• Lead small groups and follow plans provided by the classroom teacher;
• Perform all duties and responsibilities related to a Kindergarten Classroom;
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a supportive classroom that, as much as possible, aligns with current research in Dual Language Education and meets students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
